The Principals
Dr. Aisha Romain is a certified specialist in Paediatric Dentistry. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Paediatric Dentistry and a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.
Dr. Romain obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery at the Howard University College of Dentistry, Washington, DC, in 2005. She then pursued her Paediatric Dental Specialty training at the Eastman Institute of Oral Health, University of Rochester Medical Centre, in New York where she trained under Dr. Robert Berkowitz.
Dr. Romain became a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in 2008. In 2012 she opened her practice on Danforth Avenue in Toronto – Danforth Children’s Dentistry with her colleague Dr Sonia Chung. Dr. Romain is an Instructor of Clinical Dentistry in the Graduate Paediatric Dental Department at The University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry and serves as an examiner in the specialty of Paediatric Dentistry for the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.
Dr Romain is active staff at the Michael Garron Hospital and is the current Division Head of the Department of Dentistry. Dr. Romain is passionate about the patients she serves and is committed to providing exceptional care to all children. Dr Romain has interests in oral health equity and improving access to dental care for all children.
Dr. Sonia Sun-He Chung is a certified specialist in paediatric dentistry and a
fellow of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Canada.
Dr. Chung graduated from the University of Toronto with her Honours Bachelor of Science degree in 2001 and her Honours Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2005. After completing a general practice residency at The Hospital for Sick Children, Dr. Chung continued her studies at the University of Toronto, where she earned her Diploma in Paediatric Dentistry and a Master of Science about the prioritization and wait times for paediatric dental surgeries at SickKids.
In 2010, she completed a dental fellowship at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. Dr. Chung then joined the staff of SickKids Dentistry in 2011, focusing on the management of medically compromised patients, dental emergencies, and the training of dental residents. She is also an examiner in paediatric dentistry for The Royal College of Dentists of Canada.
In 2012, Dr. Chung opened Danforth Children’s Dentistry with her colleague, Dr. Aisha Romain, with the goal of providing personalized pediatric dental care for children in a safe and nurturing environment. Dr. Chung is passionate about connecting with her patients and their families to create a positive dental home and to provide exceptional dental care.
